Recipe: Cheeseburger Egg Rolls
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 12 egg roll wrappers
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
- Cook the Beef Mixture:
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the onion softens.
- Stir in the ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes until everything is well combined and heated through.
- Assemble the Egg Rolls:
- Place an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface with one corner facing you.
- Spoon about 2-3 tablespoons of the beef mixture into the center of the wrapper, then top with a generous amount of shredded cheddar cheese.
- Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll up tightly, sealing the top edge with a bit of water. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Fry the Egg Rolls:
- Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a large pan or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully add the egg rolls to the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve:
- Serve your cheeseburger egg rolls with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce on the side.
