Cheesy Beef Burrito Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) water
- 1 cup (120 g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup (120 g) shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1/2 cup (120 g) diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup (120 g) diced onions
- 1/4 cup (60 g) chopped cilantro (optional)
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1/2 cup (120 g) sour cream (optional)
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) salsa or hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Beef:
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef until browned.
- Drain excess grease, then add taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Prepare Ingredients:
- In a bowl, mix the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese.
- Dice the tomatoes, onions, and cilantro if using.
- Assemble the Burritos:
- Warm the flour tortillas slightly for easier folding.
- Spread a layer of cooked beef in the center of each tortilla.
- Add the cheese mixture, diced tomatoes, onions, and cilantro on top.
- Optionally, add sour cream or salsa for extra flavor.
- Fold the Burritos:
- Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then roll it tightly from bottom to top.
- Grill or Heat:
- Heat a clean skillet or grill pan over medium heat.
- Place the burritos seam-side down and cook until the tortilla is golden and crispy. Flip and cook the other side.
- Serve:
- Slice the burritos in half for presentation and serve warm with extra salsa, guacamole, or sour cream.
