Ingredients:
For the steak:
- 2 ribeye steaks (or your preferred cut)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp rosemary (fresh or dried)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the mashed potatoes:
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup milk or heavy cream
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the green beans:
- 300g fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the gravy:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
1. Cook the steak:
- Season both sides of the steaks with salt, pepper, garlic, and rosemary.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare (adjust for desired doneness).
- Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes.
2. Prepare the mashed potatoes:
- Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender (about 15-20 minutes).
- Drain and mash the potatoes. Mix in butter and milk until creamy. Season with salt and pepper.
3. Cook the green beans:
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Add the green beans and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Make the gravy:
- In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden.
- Gradually whisk in the beef broth and bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
5. Plate and serve:
- Arrange the steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans on a plate. Drizzle gravy over the steak and potatoes. Serve hot with a glass of wine or your preferred drink.
