Ingredients:
For the steak:

  • 2 ribeye steaks (or your preferred cut)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp rosemary (fresh or dried)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the mashed potatoes:

  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup milk or heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the green beans:

  • 300g fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the gravy:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions:

1. Cook the steak:

  1. Season both sides of the steaks with salt, pepper, garlic, and rosemary.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare (adjust for desired doneness).
  3. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes.

2. Prepare the mashed potatoes:

  1. Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender (about 15-20 minutes).
  2. Drain and mash the potatoes. Mix in butter and milk until creamy. Season with salt and pepper.

3. Cook the green beans:

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  2. Add the green beans and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper.

4. Make the gravy:

  1. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden.
  2. Gradually whisk in the beef broth and bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.

5. Plate and serve:

  • Arrange the steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans on a plate. Drizzle gravy over the steak and potatoes. Serve hot with a glass of wine or your preferred drink.
